A couple of ideas for stories suited to your media:
1) GLOBAL WARMING’S INFLUENCE ON THE ACR
The Arctic Circle Race 2007 is experiencing the consequences of global warming. The weather is more unstable compared to previous years, and only three days before the race is officially opened on March 23rd Sisimiut had extreme weather with hurricanes, rain and temperatures above 0 °C. This, of course, complicates cross-country skiing in a landscape that is only poorly covered by snow.
In February 2000 Sisimiut had only 3 days with temperatures above 0 °C. Highest temperature was 1,2 °C. February mean temperature: -15,8 °C.
In February 2007 Sisimiut suddenly had 11 days in total with temperatures above 0 °C. Highest temperature was 8,3 °C. February mean temperature: -5,9 °C.
In March 2000 Sisimiut had only 1 day with temperatures above 0 °C. Highest temperature was 0,2 °C. March mean temperature: -15,0 °C.
In March 2007 Sisimiut had 3 days in total with temperatures above 0 °C. Highest temperature recorded was 7,9 °C. March mean temperature: -10,5 °C
